Area 24 Restricted Research & Development Area Greenhouse Aquaponic Experiment
All summer, this area was a shelter for my beautiful basil and citrus trees. I did some experimentation as well. Next, I am going to upgrade this greenhouse and set up for an Aquaponic trial! Catfish? Prawns? I have to study up before I set it up! I have a general idea of how it works. This is what my husband said to me " I want to go fishing in my backyard when I feel like it!" I said "OK..." Aquaponics? A Fish Farm?" Our end game is to grow our own food. I guess he has included fish as well! Let's get it started!
The first thing that I must do, is to get my greenhouse ready for the winter. I have to insulate the building, install an Aquaponic system, install a heater so my precious citrus trees can survive winter in this greenhouse. This is going to be one heck of an experiment! I am excited! I might be able to eat shrimp that I raised on my own! Or, some delicious fried catfish! Nice to know that my catfish did not consume anything undesirable from Lake Mead (You know what I mean if you are a native) don't you agree?
Our next step towards self-sustainable living will be a bold one- will you come along for the ride?
